GR8 Welfare Cricket Match 2013

Some of the best known faces on Indian TV congregated at Khar Gymkhana ground for a charity cricket match to raise funds for Anu Ranjan’s NGO BETI, on the 5th December 2013,which supports women suffering from acid attack and other atrocities. ‘POWERPLAY – Sports for Cause, a 15 Over Celebrity Exhibition Match’, was organized by Viceversa Events. MLA Baba Siddique was the guest of honour for the evening and was seen encouraging the players.

Anu Ranjan, founder of BETI informed “It is quite alarming how incidents of crime against women are increasing by the day in our city. As influential members of the society we have to come together to fight this menace and encourage like minded individuals to join the cause. BETI has already taken up the cause of two acid attack victims viz. Sonali Mukherjee and LalitaBenbansi. Sonali has undergone over 6 surgeries at a hospital in Delhi and is on her way to recovery, while Lalita is being treated in Mumbai by expert doctors.”
