The Rajasthan International Film Festival (RIFF) 2017 turned out to be eventful as filmmakers from all over the world participated in it to showcase their feature films and short films. He won the coveted award for the Best Debutant Director at RIFF for his movie ‘Hai Apna Dil Toh Awara’, a romcom based on modern relationships.

‘Hai Apna Dil Toh Awara’ stars TV hotties Niyati Joshi, Sahil Aanand and Harry Tangiri. Monjoy was very happy with their ouput saying they have really added value to the product. Monjoy remembered his late legendary father, who was India’s first chocolate-hero, when his name was announced as the Best Debutante Director. He said, “I am thankful to the entire team of my film, the producers, actors, technical crew, composers and lyricists. I dedicate this award to my late father Joy Mukerji”
