NEELAM KATARA – Neelam’s world shattered when her 24-year-old son Nitish was brutally battered to death in an honor killing related to his love affair with a classmate. What followed was a relentless 14-year battle in the courts, where she faced immense pressure and witnessed key witnesses, including the girl involved, turn hostile.

Despite the formidable obstacles, Neelam persevered, driven by a mother’s unwavering love and a thirst for justice. Her fight culminated in the Supreme Court, where the accused were finally sentenced to 25 years in prison.
