DR.KETAYUN DINSHAW – She was a trailblazer in the field of Indian medicine, leaving an indelible mark on the evolution of modern cancer care and the advancement of effective radiation therapy over a span of thirty years. Her contributions were so significant that in 2001, she was honored with the Padma Shri Award by the President of India.

Her visionary leadership led to the establishment of the Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research, and Education in Cancer (ACTREC) in Navi Mumbai, a groundbreaking initiative that has revolutionized cancer treatment in India. Additionally, she spearheaded the development of the new Tata Clinic and Faculty block at TMH, along with the IGRT Facility block, setting new standards for cancer care infrastructure.

One of her most notable achievements was the development of the indigenous radiotherapy machine, Bhabhatron, a feat that has revolutionized cancer treatment not only in India but also in several developing countries. Thanks to her efforts, Bhabhatron has been installed in twenty other cancer centers across India, and donated to numerous developing nations, transforming the landscape of cancer treatment worldwide.
