Am excited about ‘2016 The End’ – Kiku Sharda
TV actor Kiku Sharda is quite excited about his Bollywood film 2016 The End, which releases today.
“The concept about 4 friends (Kiku, Harshad Chopda, Divyendu Sharma and Priya Banerjee), who come to know that the world is coming to an end itself creates situational comedy. I have done films before, but never took it seriously. I have turned down many film offers, for the roles were mostly of the hero’s friend. But, this stint excited me. Unlike other films which are stitched together by jokes, we actually have a proper story. The writer director Jaideep Chopra came to me with a bound script.”
“Comedy Nights with Kapil changed my scene three years back. I can now choose the kind of work I want to do. Even FIR, which ran for a long time gave me name and recognition.”
When asked to comment the entire Gurmet Ram Rahim spoof episode, which landed him in jail for a few days “People have a right to be upset about my jokes , they are also free to approach the court but there is a due process involved in the same, some of which was not followed. People also forget that at the end of the day the channel approved the spoof, hence it was aired in the first place”
