Sony TV’s marquee show ‘Beyhadh’ posts disappointing numbers
Looks like Indian TV audience does not accept change easily. The first week ratings of Sony TV’s non saas-bahu urban show Beyhadh seem to suggest so. CID, which has been running for 15 years now continues to rate high.Beyhadh is doing slightly better than Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi, which is not doing great either. This could be a body blow to both Jennifer Winget and Kushal Tandon, who were hoping that Beyhadh might change the face of Indian TV.
Kushal was quoted as saying that he does not expect a rating of 2.5 TVR due to low channel GRP, but the first week numbers are much lower than expected. Sony EVP Danish Khan was also hopeful that Beyhadh will again put Sonyon recovery path.
Indian audience seems to be happy with snakes, for SAB TV’s latest snake show Ichhapyaari Naagin has opened well. It has opened better then most recent SAB TV properties. Also Nagin2 has topped the charts in its first week.
