An annual Beti Fashion Show, organized by the BETI initiative, is a beacon of hope and empowerment, striving to elevate women’s leadership and participation across all spheres of society. This remarkable event serves as a platform to advocate for women’s rights, raise awareness against crimes targeting women, and celebrate the spirit of womanhood.

“ON TELEVISION”

The ITA Seminars have been pivotal events organized by the Indian Television Academy, aimed at providing a unified platform for all sectors of the TV industry to address their grievances and foster collaboration. These seminars have witnessed the participation of key figures from production, direction, acting, technical sectors, and beyond, facilitating dialogue and understanding across the industry.

The inaugural seminar, “On Television,” marked a historic occasion as it brought together luminaries from various sectors for the first time, paving the way for unified discussions and initiatives. Additionally, the ITA organized two highly successful symposiums on TRPs, shedding light on this critical aspect of television programming and audience measurement.

Furthermore, the seminar on the Production-Distribution-Exhibition nexus in feature films, garnered participation from eminent figures such as Mahesh Bhatt, Ketan Mehta, Arnab Goswami, Rajat Sharma,  Sudhir Mishra, Vivek Vaswani, Sam Balsara, Siddharth Kak and Akbar Khan, among others. This event provided valuable insights into the dynamics of the film industry and fostered collaboration among stakeholders.

The ITA Symposiums on TRPs (Television Rating Points) have been instrumental in fostering dialogue and understanding around this crucial aspect of television programming. These symposiums, organized by the Indian Television Academy, provided a platform for industry stakeholders to delve into the intricacies of TRP measurement, its impact on content creation and distribution, and the challenges and opportunities it presents for broadcasters and producers.

With the participation of key players from across the television industry, including broadcasters, advertisers, media agencies, and regulatory bodies, the symposiums facilitated discussions on best practices, methodologies, and emerging trends in TRP measurement. Participants had the opportunity to exchange insights, share experiences, and explore innovative approaches to leverage TRP data for informed decision-making and audience engagement.

“ON CONTENT REGULATION”

One of the highlights was the distinguished seminar on “Content Regulation,” held under the patronage and was Chaired by the Honourable Ambika Soni ji,Minister of Information & Broadcasting which saw the participation of industry leaders, channel executives, prominent producers, and celebrities from public life. This seminar addressed critical issues surrounding content regulation, underscoring the industry’s commitment to responsible broadcasting and ethical standards.

Through these seminars, the ITA has played a pivotal role in fostering dialogue, addressing industry challenges, and advancing the collective interests of the television fraternity. They continue to serve as important platforms for collaboration, innovation, and progress within the industry.

  1. On February 20th, 2013, a remarkable event unfolded, marking a significant cultural milestone for Mumbai.

Organized by Shashi Ranjan, a versatile Producer/Director/Publisher, and Rumyi Jafferi, a talented Writer/Director, the ‘Tehzeeb-e-Gango-Jaman Mushaaira’ celebrated the rich tapestry of Indian culture, particularly the intertwined heritage of Hindi and Urdu. This poetic soirée offered a harmonious blend of exquisite poetry in both languages, presented by some of the most revered poets of our time.

The esteemed roster of participating poets included luminaries such as Waseem Barelawi, Rahat Indori, Javed Akhtar, Hassan Kamal, Qausar Siddiqui, Ashok Chakradhar, Nazar Bijnori, Maya Govind, Barkha Singh, and Swanand Kirkire.

Their eloquent verses resonated through the gathering, captivating hearts and minds with their profound reflections on life, love, and the human experience.

  1. Fast forward to June 8th, 2014, the second edition of the ‘Tehzeeb-e-Gango-Jaman Mushaaira’.

This event, now in its second year, continued to pay homage to the shared cultural heritage of Hindi and Urdu, reaffirming the enduring bond between these two languages and the diverse communities they represent.

YASH CHOPRA MEMORIAL AWARDS:

The Yash Chopra Award, named in honor of the legendary filmmaker Yash Chopra, celebrates individuals who have made significant strides in the film industry, embodying the spirit of creativity, innovation, and excellence that defined Yash Chopra’s legendary career.

This award serves as a tribute to Yash Chopra’s unparalleled legacy and his immense contributions to Indian cinema. Through this recognition, we aimed to not only commemorate the iconic filmmaker but also to inspire future generations of filmmakers to strive for greatness and leave an indelible mark on the cinematic landscape.

The Yash Chopra Award, presented annually at a gala event attended by luminaries from the film fraternity, honors individuals who exemplify the highest standards of craftsmanship, storytelling, and artistic vision.
