SWATI RAVINDRA PARADKAR – Facing adversity at a young age, she took control of her fate by joining ‘Lijjat Papad’ at 11. Starting as a ‘Papad-roller,’ she rose through the ranks to become ‘Sanchalika,’ managing Production & Sales. Her journey is a testament to hard work and determination.

Her journey reached its pinnacle when she was appointed as the President of ‘Shri Mahila Griha Udyog Lijjat Papad,’ an enterprise that originated with just seven women pooling together 80 rupees to make papads. Today, it stands as a testament to women’s empowerment, a multi-product exporting firm with a global reputation.

Lijjat Papad is known for its unique business model, which is based on the principles of self-help and mutual aid. The cooperative is entirely owned and operated by women, who are involved in every aspect of the business, from manufacturing to marketing. The women work from their homes, allowing them to balance their work and family responsibilities.

It has become a symbol of women’s entrepreneurship in India
