SEHBA HUSSAIN – She is a symbol of hope for the upcoming generation, especially for young girls facing economic hardships. To uplift them, she established BETI (Better Education Through Innovation), which now supports over 4,500 girls in remote and impoverished communities, including those from Scheduled Castes, Other Backward Classes, Tribal, and other Minority groups.
Another significant achievement in her life is SEWA (Self-employed Women’s Association). Initially intending to open a school, she and her friend realized the pressing need for basic necessities like food (‘Roti’). This led to the inception of SEWA, ensuring that Chikankari Craftswomen received fair wages directly, improving their financial independence. SEWA now boasts over 5,000 members, each with a success story to share!
