She is an Indian actress, writer, and director whose artistic roots run deep into world cinema rather than the mainstream. As a director, she has made a mark with her debut film, ‘Death in the Gunj’, which has garnered critical acclaim and earned her the Best Director award at the New York Indian Film Festival.
